How to

EasyWorship 7

This guide shows how to use a BeforePreach loop (MP4) or still (JPG) as the background behind lyrics in EasyWorship 7, keep it repeating, and run a five-minute countdown before the service. The steps follow EasyWorship's own support articles for version 7.

Steps

  1. 1

Download the shape of your screen

Choose the BeforePreach preset that matches your projector or display. Most are 16:9 at 1920×1080. A file in the right shape fills the screen with no bars.

  2. 2

    Add the file to EasyWorship

In the Resource Area, click the Media tab, then Videos (or Images for a still). Click Add at the bottom of the list, choose the file and click Open. You can also drag the file from File Explorer into the list.

  3. 3

    Turn on repeat and mute

Right-click the video and choose Edit Video Properties. On the Properties tab, under Media Properties, set Repeating to On. Under Audio Properties, choose Mute. BeforePreach loops are silent anyway, so this is only a safeguard. The repeat and sound buttons in the preview change only the preview, not what goes live.

  4. 4

Make the video fill the screen

On the same Properties tab, Aspect Ratio offers Maintain, Stretch and Zoom. When the file matches your screen's shape, Maintain fills it exactly. If the shapes differ, Zoom fills the screen by trimming the edges, while Stretch distorts the picture.

  5. 5

Set it as the background of a song

Select the song in the schedule and open the Inspector. Under Slide, click Background, change Fill Style to Media Fill, and pick your loop or still from Select Media. Click Apply to Theme so every slide in the song uses it.

  6. 6

Or keep it in a theme

To reuse a background every week, right-click it in the Media tab and choose Copy to Theme, then Song Theme. The theme appears in the Themes area, where you can make it the default or drag it onto songs in the schedule.

  7. 7

    Play the countdown

Add the countdown MP4 to Videos and set Repeating to Off in Edit Video Properties, so it stops at zero. Put it at the top of the schedule. Five minutes before the service, send it live by hand: double-click it in the Preview area, or press Page Down, the Go Live shortcut in EasyWorship 7.
