Cookies

BeforePreach sets three cookies, all of them needed to sign you in or to show the site in your language, and keeps two small settings in your browser. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you were never shown a consent banner.

Version 1.0, 14 October 2026.

1 The cookies

NameWhat it is forHow long
bp_sessionKeeps you signed in. A signed record of your sign-in: your account id, your church's id, your role, your name and email address, and whether the address is confirmed. Http-only, so page scripts cannot read it; SameSite=Lax, so another site cannot make your browser send it; HTTPS only.30 days, or until you sign out
bp_ssoCarries the sign-in handshake with AfterPreach: a random value that ties the answer to your browser, and the page to return to afterwards. Http-only.30 minutes
NEXT_LOCALERemembers the language you read the site in, so the next visit opens in it.1 year

None of them is shared with another site or used to follow you anywhere.

2 Settings kept in your browser

Two settings are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. They are never sent to the server.

3 Cookies set by others

Paddle sets its own cookies only inside its checkout, when you open it to pay. They are Paddle's, under Paddle's privacy policy.

AfterPreach is where you sign in, so it sets its own sign-in cookie on afterpreach.com. AfterPreach's cookie notice covers it.

If the operator has switched on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it counts visits without setting a cookie or storing anything in your browser.

4 Why there is no banner

Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. The two sign-in cookies are strictly necessary: without them there is no way to know you are signed in. The language cookie only remembers a choice the site needs to show you a page at all. A banner asking permission for these would be theatre.

There is no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no third-party cookie on these pages, and no tracking pixel. See the privacy policy for everything else.

5 Refusing them

You can block cookies for this site in your browser. Signing in will then stop working, which is the honest answer rather than a workaround. Pages you can read without an account, such as the pricing and these documents, still work.
