Privacy policy

What BeforePreach collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get it back or get rid of it. Your account is shared with AfterPreach, so this policy says clearly which of the two holds what.

Version 1.0, 14 October 2026.

1 Who is responsible

The controller is ND Strupler, Cambodia, who also runs AfterPreach and is its controller too. For anything in this policy, write to info@afterpreach.com.

2 One account, held by AfterPreach

BeforePreach and AfterPreach share one account. AfterPreach holds it, and AfterPreach's privacy policy covers what it keeps and how long. In short:

Held by AfterPreach, for both

Your name, your email address, a hash of your password, your language, your church's name and country, the team and each member's role, the church design (colours, typeface, logo, language), the service times and places, and the photo library.

BeforePreach never sees your password. Its sign-in and sign-up forms send it from your browser straight to AfterPreach, which checks it and sends you back signed in.

Read by BeforePreach

BeforePreach's server fetches these from AfterPreach over a private, authenticated connection when a page needs them, and changes them there when you edit the church design, the team or the photo library here. It keeps its own copy of only two things: your church's name, for its admin list and its emails, and a signed record of your sign-in in a cookie (see the cookie notice).

Told to AfterPreach

Your church's BeforePreach plan, its status, when a trial ends, the seat count and the photo limit, so the account menu, the team and the photo library agree in both products.

3 What BeforePreach keeps itself, and why

Church

Your church's id (the one AfterPreach gives it), a copy of its name, when it finished setting up, and the text motion it chose for new Studio creations.

Needed to perform the contract.

Plan and billing

The plan, monthly or yearly, its status, the trial's end and whether it has been used, when trial reminders were sent, the customer, subscription and price ids Paddle gives back, the end of the current period, a cancellation already scheduled, and any promotion the operator gave. Also the ids of Paddle's notifications already applied, so a repeated one changes nothing.

Needed to perform the contract, and to keep payment records the law requires.

Usage

How many downloads, creations and renders the church has used in each period. These are counts per church, not a record of who did what.

Needed to perform the contract and to enforce the allowance you chose.

Screens and seats

The screen profiles your church saves (a name, a width and a height, and which is the default), and which team members have a BeforePreach seat when the team is larger than the plan.

Needed to perform the contract.

Later features

When those features are available: the church's downloads, favourites and creations, and the files rendered for it. This policy will say what each one holds before it opens.

Technical

Your IP address, held in memory for up to an hour to limit password reset requests and forgotten on every restart, and cookies for signing in and for your language. If the operator has switched on Cloudflare Web Analytics, it counts the visit without a cookie.

Legitimate interest in keeping the service usable and safe from abuse.

There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no third-party cookie anywhere on this site. Nothing about you or your visit is sold or shared for marketing.

5 Emails, and the copy the operator receives

BeforePreach sends these emails: confirming your address, password resets, team invitations, account hand-overs and the note to the previous owner, and trial reminders three days and one day before a trial ends. Replies go to info@afterpreach.com.

A blind copy of every email the service sends goes to the operator's own inbox (info@afterpreach.com), the confirmation, reset, invitation and hand-over links included, so the operator can help when a link does not arrive. Those links work for whoever holds them until they expire. The copies stay in that mailbox like any other mail; ask, and the ones about you are deleted.

Nothing else is sent: no newsletter, no mailing list, and nothing on anyone else's behalf.

6 Your series outline goes to an AI provider

This applies when the Series Pack generator is available. To propose a pack, the service sends the sermon series outline you paste, and nothing else, to Anthropic in the United States. Your name, your email and your church are not sent with it.

Under Anthropic's commercial terms, material sent through their API is not used to train their models. It is retained by them for a limited period for abuse monitoring.

The model proposes verse references only. Where licensed verse text is used, API.Bible receives the reference and the translation, never the outline.

The practical consequence: do not paste anything into the outline that a person told you in confidence. A pastoral conversation, a named person's illness, a marriage in trouble. Preach it if you must, but do not send it here.

7 Who else receives anything

AfterPreach (the same operator)

Holds the account you sign in with, shared by both products. Not a third party: AfterPreach is the sister service, run by the same operator under the same controller. It holds your name, your email address, a hash of your password, your church, its team, the church design, the service times and the photo library, and you sign in there. BeforePreach tells it your church's BeforePreach plan, trial end, seat count and photo limit, so both products show the same account.

As set out in AfterPreach's own privacy policy · their terms

Railway Corp.

Runs the application. Every request to the site passes through their machines while it is answered, with whatever it carries: the pages you open, the forms you send and the files you download.

United States, with the deployment region set by the operator · their terms

Neon, LLC (a Databricks company)

The database that holds BeforePreach's own records. Your church's id and name, its subscription and trial, usage counts, screen profiles and seat picks, and, when those features are available, its downloads, favourites and creations. Never your password, which BeforePreach does not see.

United States, with the database region set by the operator · their terms

Cloudflare, Inc. (R2 storage, Web Analytics, Email Routing)

Stores the files, counts visits, and forwards mail sent to the operator's address. R2 holds the library's files and, when the Studio is available, the files rendered for your church. If Web Analytics is switched on, it receives what a browser sends when it loads a page: the page address, the referring site, the browser and device type, and the IP address, which Cloudflare uses to work out the country and does not keep as an identifier. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. Email Routing passes mail sent to the operator's address, including the copy of each email the service sends, on to the operator's own inbox.

Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.)

Delivers every email the service sends: address confirmation, password resets, team invitations, account hand-overs and trial reminders. Your email address and name, and the text of the email being sent, with a copy of each to the operator's own inbox. Never your series outlines or your files.

United States · their terms

Paddle.com Market Ltd.

Takes the payment, and is the merchant of record for it. Your email address and the plan you picked, sent when the checkout opens, plus internal references to your church and your account so the payment can be matched back to it. Your card details are entered on Paddle's own checkout and never reach this service, which stores only the customer and subscription ids Paddle gives back.

Anthropic PBC

Proposes a Series Pack from your outline, when the Series Pack generator is available. Only the sermon series outline you paste. Not your name, your email or your church.

United States · their terms

Unsplash Inc.

Photo search inside the Studio, when the Studio is available. The words you type into the photo search. Nothing that identifies you.

American Bible Society (API.Bible)

Supplies licensed verse text, when that is available. Verse references only, for example John 3:16, and the translation asked for. Nothing that identifies you or your church.

8 Data leaving your country

Most of the providers above are in the United States, so your data goes there. Transfers rest on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and where the provider is certified, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss extension. Paddle is in the United Kingdom, which the EU and Switzerland recognise as protecting data adequately.

The operator works from Cambodia, which has no comprehensive data protection law, and reads support requests and the email copies there.

This is a real consequence rather than a formality: authorities in those countries have powers over data held there that your own country's authorities do not. Clause 6 is the practical answer.

9 How long anything is kept

BeforePreach's records of your church are kept until you ask for them to be deleted or the account is closed, then deleted. Payment records are the exception below.

Creations and rendered files, when the Studio is available, are kept to the number your plan allows. Making one more removes the oldest, with a warning first.

Your IP address lives in memory only, for an hour at most, and is gone on every restart.

Payment records are kept by Paddle and by the operator for as long as tax law requires, which is commonly ten years.

The database keeps a short rolling history at Neon so it can be restored after a fault. A deleted record stays in that history until the restore window has passed.

What AfterPreach holds is kept as AfterPreach's privacy policy says.

10 What you can ask for

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected, for it to be deleted, for its use to be restricted, for it in a portable form, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. The same operator answers for BeforePreach and AfterPreach, so one request covers both. Write to info@afterpreach.com and you will get an answer within a month.

You can also complain to a regulator without asking the operator first. Cambodia has no data protection authority to complain to. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can complain to the authority where you live, and that right is unaffected by where this service is run from.

11 How it is protected, and where it is weak

Your password never passes through BeforePreach's server. Your session is a signed token in an http-only cookie, sent over HTTPS only. The two servers talk to each other with a shared secret, and that secret and every other key stay on the servers and never reach a browser. Card details stay with Paddle.

Being straight about the weak points, because a policy that only lists strengths is not worth reading:

Your email address controls the account in both products. A password reset is sent by email, and an account can be handed to another address the same way.

Signing in depends on AfterPreach. If AfterPreach cannot be reached, nobody can sign in to BeforePreach until it is back, though people already signed in stay signed in.

The sign-in cookie is signed, not encrypted. It cannot be altered, and page scripts cannot read it, but it carries your name and email address in readable form for anyone with access to your browser.

The operator's inbox holds working links until they expire, as clause 5 says.

12 Children

The service is for churches and their staff and is not directed at children. Do not create an account if you are under 18, and do not paste material that identifies a child.

13 Changes

This policy may change. The version and date at the top of the page say which one you are reading, and a material change will be notified before it takes effect.
