Sermon series graphics
A sermon series lasts for weeks, and its artwork turns up everywhere: the main screen, the livestream, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Plan one look at the start and every week after gets easier.
From the library, playing live
Start with the title slide
The title slide carries the series name in large type, with the week's title and the passage smaller underneath. Use a motion title background with a calm area kept free for text, or a text-safe still, so the words stay sharp over the movement.
Keep the series name short. A few words read from the back row and still fit on a phone.
Sizes for social and YouTube
The same series needs a few shapes. A feed post is 1080×1350 (4:5). A story or vertical video is 1080×1920 (9:16). A YouTube thumbnail is 1280×720 (16:9).
BeforePreach backgrounds download in 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9, each rendered for that shape rather than cropped from the wide version. On Pro, a custom size can match the thumbnail exactly. On a thumbnail, keep the text to the series name, since it shows small in search results.
One look for every week
Keep the background, colors and typeface the same from the first week to the last. Change only the week number and the week's title. People recognize the series before they read it.
Carry the series colors into your verse and announcement slides as well, so the whole service feels part of the same teaching.
The Series Pack generator is coming
Soon you will be able to paste a sermon series outline and get title options, key verse references, a color palette and a full weekly screen kit. It will be part of the Pro plan. It is not available yet, and the library covers the backgrounds in the meantime.
Questions
- What size should a series graphic be on the main screen?
- Match your screen. Many are 1920×1080 (16:9), but older projectors are often 4:3 and LED walls can be much wider.
- Can we use BeforePreach backgrounds on social media?
- Yes. The license covers social media as well as services, livestreams and recordings. Reselling or passing on the raw files is not allowed.
- Do we need Pro for the social sizes?
- No. Starter includes every preset shape at 1080p, including 4:5 and 9:16. Pro adds 4K and custom sizes.
- Is there help turning the sermon into posts?
- Yes. AfterPreach, our sister product, turns Sunday's sermon into Monday's social posts, and it uses the same account as BeforePreach.
