Choosing church motion backgrounds

A good motion background supports what is happening in the room and does not compete with it. Four choices decide most of that: pace, color, space for words, and the size and shape of your screen.

Calm or energetic

Match the pace to the moment. Slow drift, soft light and gentle particles suit prayer, communion and reflective songs. Quicker motion and brighter color fit an opening song, a baptism or Easter morning.

BeforePreach lets you filter by mood (calm, joyful, reflective, celebration) and by motion speed. When you are unsure, choose the slower one. Fast motion behind words makes them harder to read and tires the eye over a long set.

Color for the room and the text

Most churches use white lyrics, which need a mid to dark background. Pale, bright loops work with dark text but can wash out on a projector in a sunny room. Always check your choice on the real screen, not only on a laptop.

Color can also follow the church year: purple or blue in Advent, white and gold at Christmas and Easter, red at Pentecost. Seasonal packs arrive for each of these, with new packs every month in between.

Space for words

The text-safe filter shows backgrounds that keep low detail where lyrics sit. Motion title backgrounds go a step further and leave a calm area free for a sermon title. Test with your longest lyric line before Sunday.

Resolution and screen shape

Loops run 20 to 30 seconds at 30 frames per second, as MP4 (H.264) with no audio. A 1080p file is enough for most projectors. 4K, on the Pro plan, is worth it for large LED walls and 4K displays.

Shape matters more than resolution. A 16:9 file on a 4:3 projector ends up with black bars or cut-off edges. BeforePreach renders each background natively for presets from 16:9 and 4:3 to 21:9, 32:9 and 9:16, and for custom sizes such as 5760×1080, so nothing is stretched.

Questions

How do I find my screen's shape?
Look at the output resolution in your presentation software or display settings. 1920×1080 is 16:9, 1280×800 is 16:10 and 1024×768 is 4:3.
How long are the loops?
20 to 30 seconds. Each one ends where it began, so it can repeat for a whole song without a visible jump.
Can I filter by church season?
Yes. The season filter finds the Advent, Christmas, Easter and Pentecost packs, next to the filters for color, mood, motion speed and text-safe.
Which plan includes other screen shapes?
Free is 16:9 at 1080p. Starter includes every preset shape at 1080p. Pro adds 4K and custom sizes for LED walls.
